The CCAT - supported by Congress and funded by the Department of Defense - is a public-private partnership between academia, industry, and government. Through its sponsorship of solicitations of early stage technologies with homeland security, crisis/consequence management, and other government priorities, CCAT fast-tracks the commercialization process of selected technologies by providing cash awards for the development of prototypes, research and development, and provides market studies, business plans and mentoring.
